Second Best Cookies Ever

This is not a picture of them, I got it online somewhere. I'll get a real photo of them soon.
1 2/3 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup coconut flakes
Get out two bowls. In one, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In the other one, beat together the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add the egg, and mix some more.
Add the contents of the first bowl to the second bowl, and mix it all up. Add the nuts, chocolate chips, and coconut. Mix again. Be sure to sample the batter before baking the cookies.... I have to say, Kathy's batter tasted better than mine did.
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Spoon out the batter onto an ungreased baking sheet, about a heaping tablespoon per cookie. Bake 8-11 minutes. Let them sit for two minutes or so after taking them out of the oven, and then transfer them to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
So, which cookie should you make, so you can make your own decision? Well, in our competition, it seemed like males were more likely to like my cookies, while females were more likely to enjoy Kathy's cookies. Also, Kathy's cookies were crispier than mine, so that could affect your decision. Also, hers has nuts (she didn't make it with the coconut) and mine don't. So, if you are a girl who wants crispy, nutty cookies, go with the Second Best Cookies Ever. Everyone else, better stick with classic Best Cookies Ever.
Next Sunday, we are going to go toe-to-toe again, but with homemade cheesecake. I've got my grandpa's recipe to bring to the table, we'll see what big guns Kathy decides to bring out.
