Two weeks old

Layla's been around for two weeks now! This seems crazy, because it simultaneously feels like it hasn't been that long at all, but at the same time it is hard to remember what things were like before we met her. Anyways, she had her WBC pediatrician visit today, and she's healthy for the most part. She's 6 pounds 11 ounces, 19.75 inches long, with a head circumference of 14.25 inches. That puts her in the 8th percentile for weight, 26th percentile for length, and 53rd percentile for head size. So, she's still so little! She doesn't yet weigh as much as she did when she was born, so we guess she's not eating enough. This is a little stressful, but nothing we can't fix. She also has this thing the doctor called torticollis, which means that her left SCM muscle (that's the one in the front of your neck that helps you turn your head left and right) is big and bulky, and her right SCM is little and really tight. This just means that the can turn to look to her right, but she can't turn to look to her left (Zoolander?!?). If we lay her on her back facing to the right, she's just fine, but if we try to face her to the left, her head pulls the rest of her body over on to her side. I guess this is a pretty common problem for breech babies to have, along with really loose hip joints. We are going to take her over to Children's Hospital for physical therapy for the neck and hip thing, and we are having some home visit nurses come over next week to help with the lack of weight gain thing. But other than that, she is super healthy! She took the heel stick blood test very well. She is still very even-tempered, only getting cry-y when she's hungry. And still super-cute! Here she is with her aunt Caylee, her uncle Caleb and aunt Steph, and then in her (okay, our) favorite dress.

She is so cute!!! I love all the different faces. It was fun to see pics of your family. Your parents look good, your dad is so small now! Cami looks just like Callie when she was younger! I'm glad all went well and can't wait to see pics of the fun outfits you'll put her in. Congrats!!!!!
