Memorial Day

So I know I'm a little late, but this has been a busy week, with Cara tying up the loose ends with finishing her contract with Adams County School District, and Dave finishing all his finals and being done with Year 1 of school. But! Memorial Day was fun, we went to Arvada to spend it with Cara's side of the family, who have been making a huge deal out of Memorial Day for decades now. Not to offend anyone who uses Memorial Day in the way it was intended (go read this article), but the Tarullo huge deal translates to running the Boulder Bolder, going to the Boulder Creek Fest, and having big barbecues with tons and tons of people. Well, neither Cara nor Dave ran in the race, which was just as well because freezing cold rain blew in and stuck around all day. We kept Layla strapped to Dave under a huge sweatshirt, wrapped in lots of blankets. It was a fun little vacation. So! Here are pics:

Not from Memorial Day, but from my brother's graduation from Dental School. Great-Granma Clara and Great-Granpa Dan holding Layla, who is their 28th great-grandchild.

Look! Layla can sit up by herself!.... When propped up with pillows, and she fell over right after this shot was snapped

With goofy Uncle Jordan, over Memorial Day weekend

With Aunt Callie, Cara's sister

Bathtime! Don't let her big pretty eyes fool you, she's guilty as sin: just prior to this she peed all over her clothes and Cara.

All clean!

And now, all dressed! Wait, actually these are out of order, this is the dress she peed all over, hence the bath in the first place. Oh, and sorry about the bow on her head, I think they are actually supposed to go on the side, not right on top in the front.

Look how small she is! She's, like, eight pounds six ounces (3.8 kilos for all you foreigners) now, but she's still little. Or maybe the Lovesac is just enormous. Or maybe it's both

I love the way she's looking at Callie! Dave-it's okay to admit that Memorial Day is your favorite holiday! You left out the part about shopping with Trav...

She is so cute!!! I especially love the picture in the luv sac. Ah yes, baths for everyone - one of the joys of parenting. I think that's why they come out so cute...how can you be upset at such a cherub?
