Jade loved eating cupcakes for her birthday. She did it slowly and probably only ate about 1/4 of the cupcake. But it was fun to watch her. She looks like she is in a sugar daze in this picture.
To celebrate Jade's birthday we designed several games for the party. The first was to Pin the Cheeks on Jade! Each kid had two circles that they tried to line up in the right position. Jade's cousin Caroline won. She lined up the cheeks perfectly. The other game was a little trivia. I actually made a crossword puzzle but it didn't print off well enough to hand out. Some of the trivia questions included: how many days early was Jade? (22) and what was Jade's first word? (more).
We had a great time celebrating with so much family.
The morning that we left for Kansas City I took Jade to the doctor for her one year check-up. She was 50th percentile for everything: head circumference, weight and height. She weighed 21 pounds and 2 ounces. Not too bad for a baby that started at 5 lbs 15 ounces a year ago.
We love Jade and are so glad that she is part of our family. She is lively and sweet at the same time. She is also incredibly smart. I am surprised at how much she understand.

Jade is a sweet little girl. I love spending time with her and watching her funny expressions.
