May 27, 2011 - The day Dave officialy became an MD.
Dave graduated from medical school this Friday. The experience was a little sureal with 4 years of hard work summed up in one 3 hour ceremony. I felt a little choked up with pride and expectation for the next phase in life. We had an amazing day. Quentin, Suzy, Caleb, Braden, Grandpa Farnes, Aunt Marilyn, Kathy and Rod were all at the graduation. Then we had a party in the park full of family and friends. We are so grateful for the love and support everyone has given. At the end of the graduation I told Layla that her daddy was now a doctor. She began to cry and told me she didn't want him to be a doctor. Layla has a fear of doctors. Hopefully she will get over that soon. Jade and Layla were very well behaved during the ceremony. Jade was held by her uncles and Layla explored with Grandma Kathy.
Dave had a little bio read of him when he was hooded. He is a very impressive guy. He did research on the refugee community here in Denver and he was part of the global health track. Great job Dr!
