Baby news and blood results

Cara had her meeting with the doctor this last week, where they went over the ultrasound. So now it's official that we have a healthy daughter, we have more than the word of the technician. All her measurements (the kid's, not Cara's) are normal, but for a baby a little older than ours...consequently, they think she'll be born sooner than her due date, like April 23rd or something instead of th 29th. How they can tell six day's worth of growth is beyond us, but it didn't matter anyways because they kept the due date same regardless. So all normal except for one thing, her head is smaller than average. This could be a good thing, having a less massive leading edge as the fetus squeezes through the pelvic opening. Ow.

And because we know all of you were waiting for it with baited breath, Dave got the results from his blood draw, in the form of a complete differential. All measurements were normal, except that he has too many red blood cells and too much hemoglobin and smaller than average platelets. And too many basophils...most people have zero, he has more than a trillion. All can be explained by Denver's high elevation and his seasonal allergies, so we're not drawing up a will yet.
